I have this theory that singing is the most powerful thing that any one person can do, ever.
I know it comes from my experiences in large choirs. Nothing has ever hit me harder than a voice, and I know sharing your voice may be the hardest thing anyone has ever asked you to do. It’s a personal thing: you don’t sound like anyone else in the world, and sometimes it’s hard to show the real ‘you’. The inner beauty that you’ve been born with, your personality that you can project for others to experience.
Because we are all born with a voice, it seems natural that the most basic form of music comes from a voice. A mother singing to her child is a pure form of love. The child doesn’t care if she’s singing slightly off-tune, what matters most is that human connection…
A little over a year later and I still love this very much. Well said, Em.
